8 Day Kokoda Trek Tour

What an experience this tour will be. A very poignant and memorable trek along the Kododa Trail with an opportunity to mix with the local villagers on many occasions.

Day 1

Arrive in Port Moresby

Day 2

Transfer to Jacksons Airport, Port Moresby. Here you will board a flight to fly across the Owen Stanley Ranges to Kokoda. On arrival, you will be met by your carriers and taken to the Kokoda Village. You will visit the Museum followed by a briefing by the Trek Master, before setting off. We stay overnight a Hoi.

Day 3

We trek from Hoi in the morning, a gradual and unrelenting climb. We stop for a rest in Deniki which offers beautiful views of Kokoda. From there, we begin our journey through the choko fields, continuing our climb up to Isurava. We stay overnight at the Isurava Guesthouse.

Day 4

Our trek takes us through the “Battlefield Memorial” and the site of the major battle. Certainly a highlight of the trek. Afterwards, we move onto the village of Alola where we make camp for the night.

Day 5

We deviate from the Kokoda Track a short distance and along to Abuari Village. This is where the 2/16th Battalion and the 53rd Battalion set positions to stop the Japanese advance. We stay overnight at Abuari.

Day 6

We make our way back to where we started. We will have a chance to visit lots of different villages along the way. We have a chance to freshen up at our accommodation before Mumu dinner and a cold drink or two!

Day 7

We start early again this morning. We travel by road for three hours to Popondetta for your return flight to Port Moresby. Here you will check into accommodation for one night before your international flight home.

Day 8

Catch your international flight home.
